TV Geek Out 111: Emmys 2009 Chat

The TV Geek Out crew chats about this year's Emmy broadcast in this belated awards wrap-up. Who deserved their golden statuettes and who was wrongfully honored? How did the geeks think funnyman Neil Patrick Harris fared as a first-time host? What was the one win TVGO geek Dana needed (and got!) during the whole evening's awards? Heather, Perry, and Dana rail against the injustices and laud the rightful winners -- and even discuss some of the fall's new shows -- here.

TV Geek Out 110: Mad Men, "The Gypsy and the Hobo"

Who would have thought that the episode of Mad Men where Betty finally confronts Don about his past would have been a superior episode even without their epic face-off? But that’s what happened with "The Gypsy and the Hobo," thanks to an outstanding storyline for Roger Sterling that involved a drunken dinner with an old flame, as well as an exquisitely written phone conversation between him and Joan. And that’s not even taking into consideration Joan’s discovery that she’ll soon be a war bride! Listen in as TV Geek Out geeks Perry, Heather, and Dana heap praise on John Slattery, admire Joan’s ability to club her husband with a vase like he was a baby seal, and appreciate the magnificent subtlety of Jon Hamm. Check it all out here.
